Make old clay like new

Posted by: Angela Drake    in Tutorials

Today I figured out something new quite by accident! I use organic coconut oil for my hands because they are always dry and that seems to be the one thing that helps. Coconut oil is very spreadable and a tiny amount will go a long way! I put just enough on my hands so they were shiny and after rubbing the oil in, picked up a hard lump of three year old clay to try to kneed it. To my surprise the oil from my hands quickly lubricated the clay and within a few minutes was pliable! So much so that it was almost like new – fresh from the package! Yay! From now on if my clay seems dry I’ll add just a hint of the oil to make it easier to work with.

I am back…. AGAIN!!!

Posted by: Angela Drake    in *What's New

I’m back …. Again! Just when I was about to get back into sculpting (i had actually sculpted a baby head) again ….. then taaaa daaaa! I got prego! So fairies were put back on the shelf while I went through morning sickness and adjusted to being pregnant. I am now about five months along and am expecting a GIRL!!! This is huge for us because we already have three boys. She will complete the family!!

I have started sculpting again and have reached the conclusion that creating is like taking a breath of air – I must or die.
